Harry and Ralph are a couple other couples envy; a teacher and public servant they’re charming, funny, socially conscious and loving. They’ve just expanded their family with a newborn baby daughter when tragedy strikes.
Set over a single night, Harry and Ralph’s relationship is put under a microscope as they reckon with the schism that has emerged and whether it can ever be repaired. Power dynamics, privilege, trauma, microagressions and grief cast a long shadow over domestic small talk and the shared language of a long-term couple as they expose their feelings about themselves as individuals, their relationships, and their place as gay men in the 21st century, and don’t like what they see.
After a sold out season and enthusiastic audience reception in 2021, this new production of Dad Jeans promises to be an incisive, devastating, funny, and hopefully revealing night at the theatre.
